What This Site Is (and Isn’t)
Smarteufy.com publishes reviews, comparisons, and how-to guides related to home security cameras and smart home devices. Everything here reflects our own hands-on testing, research, or documented experience at the time it was written. We do our best to keep it accurate, but products get firmware updates, manufacturers change specs, and prices move — so treat what you read here as a starting point, not the final word.
We’re an independent publisher. Unless we’ve said otherwise in our Affiliate Disclosure, we’re not affiliated with, sponsored by, or officially connected to any manufacturer or brand we write about.
We don’t guarantee this site will be error-free, complete, or up to date at any given moment. Anything you do based on what you read here is your call, and your risk.
This Isn’t Professional Advice
Nothing on this site is legal advice, security consulting, or electrical guidance — even when we write about topics that touch on those areas. Here’s specifically what we mean:
- Legal: When we mention recording laws, consent requirements, or HOA rules, that’s general commentary, not a legal opinion for your situation. These laws differ by state and country, especially around audio recording. Before installing anything with a microphone, or placing a camera near a shared property line or in a rental, talk to a licensed attorney where you live.
- Security: Our placement tips and setup advice come from testing products in general conditions, not from assessing your specific home, neighborhood, or risk level. If you need an actual security assessment, that’s a job for a licensed professional, not a blog post.
- Electrical: Anything we say about wiring or powering a hardwired camera is general information. Done wrong, electrical work can cause fires or worse. If you’re hardwiring anything, hire a licensed electrician and follow your local code — don’t wing it based on an article.
If a decision could affect your safety, your finances, or your legal standing, go talk to someone qualified before you act on anything you read here.
Links to Other Sites
You’ll find links on this site pointing to Amazon, manufacturer websites, and other outside sources. We don’t control those sites, and we haven’t vetted every page they link to. Once you click through, you’re on their turf — their content, their policies, their responsibility.
We’re not vouching for the accuracy of anything on a third-party site, and we’re not involved in any transaction you make once you leave here — including purchases made through Amazon.
▶ EDIT / verify: Some of those links are affiliate links — we may earn a small commission if you buy something after clicking one, at no extra cost to you. Full details, including the required Amazon Associates wording, are in our Affiliate Disclosure.
Copyright & Ownership
Unless we say otherwise, the writing, photos, and video on this site — including anything from our own product testing — belong to Smarteufy.com or the people who created it. Don’t republish, redistribute, or build on it without our written permission. Short quotes used under fair use are fine.
Any product names, logos, or brand names you see here belong to their respective owners. We use them to identify and talk about the products we’re reviewing — that’s it. Using a brand name in a review doesn’t mean that brand endorses us or has any relationship with us, unless we explicitly say so.
▶ EDIT / verify: If this site’s domain name closely echoes a manufacturer’s trademark, get a trademark clearance opinion from an attorney. This disclaimer explains how we use third-party names in our content — it doesn’t clear up that separate risk.
Think we’ve used something of yours without permission? Let us know via the Contact section below, with a description of the material and where it appears on the site.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Smarteufy.com and its owners, operators, employees, contributors, and affiliates will not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages — including lost profits, lost data, property damage, or personal injury — arising from:
- (a) your access to, or inability to access, this Site;
- (b) anything a third party posts, does, or links to on this Site;
- (c) any content you read here, including our reviews and recommendations; or
- (d) unauthorized access to or alteration of your data or communications.
This applies whether the claim is based on warranty, contract, tort (including negligence), or any other legal theory — even if we’ve been told such damage was possible, and even if a remedy here fails its essential purpose.
This Site and everything on it are provided “as is” and “as available,” with no warranties of any kind — express or implied — including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
Some places don’t allow certain warranty exclusions or liability limits. If you’re in one of those jurisdictions, the limits above apply only to the extent the law where you live actually permits.
▶ EDIT / verify: This clause is intentionally broad, which is standard, but courts do scrutinize liability waivers — especially attempts to disclaim gross negligence, willful misconduct, or injury from a defective product. Have an attorney confirm this holds up in your specific state, and make sure your governing-law/jurisdiction clause (likely in your Terms and Conditions) names the same state consistently.
If This Page Changes
We may update this Disclaimer as our content, practices, or legal obligations change. Whenever we do, we’ll update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page. Check back occasionally — if you keep using the Site after a change goes live, that means you’ve accepted the update.
